The Jonesborough, Tennessee, heavyweight made his debut on June 27 in Sweetwater and immediately showed that he belonged. Less than a month later, Churchwell returned on July 18 in Crossville and earned another victory in the opening round of the massive 16-man tournament, putting himself one step closer to the $3,000 prize.

Now sitting at a perfect 2-0, Churchwell is wasting no time taking another major opportunity. Three fights in just over a month is a brutal schedule for any fighter, but Churchwell continues to answer every challenge placed in front of him.
Standing across from him will be one of Crossville’s biggest fan favorites.
Brandan Dery enters the main event with a 1-1 record and the hometown crowd firmly behind him. Dery began his career with an impressive victory before suffering his first loss in his second appearance.

That loss came against one of Churchwell’s close friends.

There is no personal grudge. There has been no trash talk. There is no manufactured rivalry.
